A cycling article on the BBC website on 19th June 2020 has said that consumers are struggling to get hold of new bikes in the UK, with some having to wait until 2021 to get their hands on certain models. A quick trip to the local bike shop and a catch-up chat confirmed that some stock has been difficult to get hold of, but there are bikes available. The hardest ones to source have been in the up to £500 range.
The local shop told me they have turned over 12 months’ worth of stock in three months as the consumers have rushed to take advantage of quiet roads, pleasant commutes, and good weather.
The big question now is will this new found passion for cycling last as we move out of summer and into autumn? Let us hope so!
